Hey hey... I haven't wrote a blog in awhile. I've been itching to do a POV cooking video for a long time so I decided to try it with my Mom's recipe for her turkey. I miss her dearly and it always helps when I can keep her memory alive by recreating her cooking. She always loved to cook her turkey on the grill so she could have the oven free for her pumpkin pie and yams. So genius and I always enjoy sharing my Mom's secret to her turkey.
While I was making the video, I didn't even realize that the turkey was upside down until I started to cut into the turkey. I was kind of upset that this turkey had all red meat and bones. I figured since the turkey is non gmo, maybe the turkey was just skinny, lol. I had Scottie help with cutting and he realized I cooked the turkey upside down. Ha-ha! We got a really good laugh out of it, such a blonde moment. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
Ingredients:
6 oz butter for mix
2 oz of butter for stuffing
2 whole garlics
1 tbsp of cajun seasoning
1 tsp of pepper
1 tsp of parsley
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp of garlic powder
2 yellow onions
4 large Idaho potatoes
6 Bud Lights -- pour 2 at first and then pour 1 every hour or so when you baste.
10 lb non gmo turkey
1 to 2 packs of bacon depending on size of turkey
Tip: Use the beer butter baste from the turkey to add to your gravy. Soooo Good!
